Water Board recall

And this from a Water Board Member not being recalled.

I have waited a few weeks after 3 of my fellow Board Members received their notice of recall action to voice my personal observation and opinions.

First off, I feel that a few members of our community are acting like judges and jury and going off on a tangent with only half the truth and some clouded perceptions.

This Board (all members) were willing to work with any individual or group to provide a rate increase that would insure that the Rio Linda/Elverta Community Water District would survive, and, we could keep to the middle ground of costs where no one would be hurting from the required increases. I honestly feel all the Board Members tried to do this.

I may not agree all the time with the 3 members who are being recalled, but I believe it would be very hard to fill their shoes. They have so much knowledge about water districts that is not appreciated by those that would put them off the Board. What would we, our community gain? The cost to have the recall now is estimated at $50,000. Couldn't this money be better spent?

Those who act without realizing action and reaction, cause and effect, etc., don't realize at the time that they can cause more damage than they could ever prevent. I feel this is the case here.

They are fresh from a school board recall attempt. That board should rightly be recalled as they have violated many real rules, regulations and have betrayed the public. But, there is a vast difference with the Water Board. I guess when sharks smell blood, they can't stop feeding even if it's feeding on themselves.

We were all elected to the board to guide our management in running a efficient, cost effective, and viable water district. Please let us do that. If we are second-guessed and controlled by the many special interest groups, we can not do that.

Don't sign the recall. Give us time to work together for the benefit of all. Recalls are expensive and further puts our community in jeopardy.

These are my thoughts- Are they going to recall me because of this?
