Mark,
As we discussed, Mr. Randy Faust called me Thursday at 10:12 AM.
He confirmed that now that the stop signs are in, that it will take
Board of Supervisors action to remove them, should the community decide
they should be removed.
Mr. Faust agreed to provide the following information to me next week:
- "The County adopted board policy at this time" as it
applies to the use of speed control measures on rural roads, including
speed control stop signs and speed bumps. Note that I'm using 'speed
bump' as a generic term; I understand they are called "humps", "lumps"
and "cushions", and I'm sure Mr. Faust understands my non-technical use
of the generic term.
- Details on "the criteria that was met" to comply with the county
adopted board policy as it applies to the Second Street speed control
measure.
- Details on any work that was done to measure and validate the
criteria that was met.
I am concerned about the timing of receipt of the information, given
the Tuesday publication deadline for The NEWS.
Jay
